For many Chinese enterprises that were established in a planned economy system not so long ago, the concept of strategy management is one which is familiar and foreign to them at the same time. Generally speaking, most of our state-owned enterprises are still at a primary phase of development with a level of strategic management that lags behind those in the West.So, the study of strategy management in enterprise is relevant and profoundly meaningful. I have selected state-owned property developer Yang Liu Real Estate Development Company Limited) as the subject of my study and I hope to use the theories of analysis which I have learned during my MBA programme as reference.It is imperative that Yang Liu Real Estate Development Company Limited must face up to new realities and challenges in the industry and leverage on its status as a leading player in the industry to draw up a concise three-stage strategic development plan for the next five years from a scientific viewpoint and implement it methodically. As a small- and medium-sized state-owned enterprise, Yang Liu serves as a good example for us to analyse and implement our model of strategy management.In the course of my dissertation to develop a model for business development and strategy, I have employed various methods to compare, contrast, examine and model including macro, Porter's Five Forces, SWOT and Boston Matrix, taking into account Yang Liu's current stage of development as well as the internal and external factors.
