Reconsidering the abuse of industry civilization brought to the environment, policy-makers of our city took more and more positive attitude to consider the development of urban forestry which was popular in the world.As the important east tectonic plate of Guangzhou city which was the central city in the Pearl River delta area, Zengcheng city had its obvious characteristic from the geography or the urban development process, and also had the representation and the special status in Guangzhou and Pearl River delta area which were two different sizes scope region. In view of this, this article took the urban forestry construction of Zengcheng city as example, mainly discussed how to build scientific and reasonable urban forestry system which could adapt to the urbanization and improve the ability of urban forestry sustainable development. And the purpose of which was to improve the quality of ecologic environment in Zengcheng city and promote the ecologic, social and economic sustainable development of entire Guangzhou, then in favor of forming a organic ecosystem which had remarkable benefit in Guangzhou and Pearl River delta area.By analyzing the characteristic of urban forestry construction and development state in Zengcheng city with the method of theoretical analysis and real diagnosis analysis unifying, it showed that Zengcheng city had a series of environment issues while its developing speed was high as a whole, and it was necessary to build effective urban forestry system. This article pointed out the guiding ideology and main index of urban forestry construction on the ground of analyzing the present situation and restriction factors to urban forestry construction in Zengcheng city, then planned the eleven sub-system of urban forestry in Zengcheng city from the aspect of function system and sustaining system, including urban ecological landscape greenbelt system, ecological public-spirited wood system, ecological protection greenbelt system in industrial district, ecological greenbelt system in village, farmland ecological protection forestry system, forest landscape and tourism system, commercial forest system, urban forestry construction management system, urban forestry resources protection system, urban forestry information system and urban forestry science sustainable system.Based on the planning for urban forestry construction of Zengcheng city, this article putted forward some advice of key ecological construction engineering to promote the urban forestry development, that is, ecological public-spirited wood caring project, forest belt and forest network construction project, forest garden and ecological tourism construction project, ecological protection project in industrial district, natural protection section construction project, forest disaster protection and control project, science and technology platform construction project and so on.Finally, this article pointed out that, there was advantageous to the urban forestry development only when the academic circles and the entire society reaching consensus to the urban forestry; only when the disciplines superiority of the traditional forestry and the traditional landscape melting into the urban forestry, there was advantageous to develop the Chinese characteristic urban forestry system. And it's very important to establish the unified management institute so as to advance the urban forestry development with the management system for forestry and landscape.
