Machine layout problem has always been remained as one of the primitive and difficult designing problems of manufacturing, because it requires obtaining maximum benefit under insufficient resource in limited workshop space and all of those must meet the various and complex constrains of machine layout problem. Reasonable machine layout designning could inhance production efficiency through reducing logistics costs and improving machine configuration redundancy. Semiconfuctor assembly and test which are the last two processes of semiconductor manufacturing characterize as expensive and massive equipments and complex logistics route. At present, the machine layout problem of semiconductor assembly and test workshop is usually solved by entity model or layout assumption diagram with a little quantitative calculation which lack of scientific quantitative calculation, theory guiding and flexibility for the change of manufacturing. So, this thesis is to provide a scientific and quantitative solution for machine layout problem of semiconductor assembly and test workshop through researching its optimization mathematical model and solving algorithm.The researching work in this paper is mainly focused on the following areas:1. Researching on the characters of machine layout problem of semiconductor assembly and test workshop: based on the analysis of processing flow, equipment organization forms and logistic system of semiconductor assembly and test workshop, this thesis describe the characters of machine layout problem of semiconductor assembly and test workshop and puts forward to divide this problem into two steps: bay layout and overall layout which are solved respectively.2. Researching on optimization mathematical model and its solving algorithm of bay layout: by studying the objects, the requirements and constrains of bay layout, the optimization mathematical model of bay layout which set minimization of areas and length-width ratio as the optimal objects is established and a solving algorithm combinding heuristic method and mathematical method is proposed.3. Researching on optimization mathematical model and its solving algorithm of overall layout: through studying the objects, the requirements and constrains of overall layout, the optimization mathematical model of overall layout which set minimization of total logistics costs and areas occupied of machines as the optimal objects is established and genetic algorithm is used to solve this mathematical model. Meanwhile, the key contents of genetic algorithm such as coding, fitness function, selection operator, crossover operator and mutation operator are designed based on the characters of the problem in this paper.4. Designing and developing the simulation software based on the algorithm proposed in this thesis: the simulation software is developed through the designing of system functions, system construct and key technology of the simulation softwareAt last, the data involved with semiconductor assembly and test workshop is substituted into the algorithm proposed in this thesis and the results show that the algorithm is feasible and effective to solve the machine layout problem of semiconductor assembly and test workshop.
