The Research Of Lean Practice In Shanghai Flextronics' Production Improvement

Since the 1980's of last century, Chinese manufacture industry has developed remarkably, the revenue of manufacture field has become the main source of GDP. With the global course of information technology, advanced manufacture skill and market globalization, the development of world manufacture industry comes with challenges and opportunities. But in China, manufacture enterprises also have to face the problems of scarce resource, labour cost increase, low efficiency of production. This paper will take the lean practice in Flextronics Shanghai company as example, research is divided into shop floor Kaizen and production process improvement. The focus is the application of 6 lean tools: Identify & Clear Waste, 5S & Visual Management, Poka-yuke, VSM , SMED , Standard Work Sheet) , then will show the advantage of lean practice by compare the situation between before and after the lean Kaizen. At last, summarize the experience and lessons with suggestion, in order to create value for domestic enterprises who are engaged in or plan to do lean production improvement.
