With the development of knowledge economy, knowledge has become the most important resource except for land, capital and labor. Tacit knowledge, because of its usefulness, difficulty for express, causal ambiguity and so on, becomes the strategic resource of the business and key aspect of the enterprise competitive advantage. As the typical knowledge-intensive enterprise, software firms should manage the tacit knowledge effectively to share them among employees freely. That is the problem software firms have to face and that is what we are discussing about.Much part of knowledge of software firms have been hold by programmers. The knowledge of programmers can not be transferred into knowledge assets of the enterprise, so software firms have to depend on part of programmers, blocking the development of enterprises. Therefore, promoting the tacit knowledge sharing among the programmers has important reality meanings. This paper starts with summarizing abundant literatures on definition, influencing factors, and the effect of knowledge sharing, including implications, measurement, and transforming of tacit knowledge. Secondly, by means of supply-demand curve, from the point of relation-type psychological contract, this paper analyses psychological factors of programmers tacit knowledge sharing. Thirdly, this paper analyses tacit knowledge sharing vertically from the point of programming process. Fourthly, according to the tacit knowledge supplier's psychological characteristic and the tacit degree of knowledge, the tacit knowledge suppliers are divided into four typical kinds. This paper analyses characteristic of these four kinds of programmers, and how to manage them by four kinds of techniques. Finally, the paper analyses empirically the tacit knowledge sharing management of Dalian Embedded Department of Neusoft, discussing the problems in its development and ideas and means to solve the problems.
