Thorpe Group Logistics Development And Countermeasures

This paper offers a comprehensive analysis on the logistics status of Jiangsu Sopo(Group) Co., Ltd.(hereafter referred to as "Sopo Group")and points out the problems withits current logistic system,also provides some practical advice for the development ofmodern entrepreneurial logistics,by the basic theories and methodologies of modernlogistics management and SWOT strategic analysis, based on the thorough survey of thelogistics status of the company, with the purpose that it will guide and promote the logisticsdevelopment of the company.First of all, the paper carries out an introduction of logistics system and an analysis ofthe current logistic situation of international and domestic chemical industry enterprises,also makes a discussion about the four steps of modern enterprise logistics together withthe trend of logistic system for chemical industry. Then, through full expatiation about thelogistic situation of Sopo Group and SWOT strategic analysis with it, this paper points outthe advantages and disadvantages for Sopo Group to develop modern logistics, togetherwith some problems lying in logistics management of Sopo Group. Finally, this paperprovides Sopo Group some ideas for the development of modern logistic system: to beguided by modern logistics methodologies, train and introduce persons with modernlogistic knowledge, consummate inside information systems, intensify supply chainmanagement, futher optimize the way of transportation, which will make logistics one ofthe core competitiveness for Sopo Group. Benefits from these measures are also simplyrefered in this paper.
