Supply Chain Inventory Management Decision-making

Inventory Management is the core of logistic for an enterprise. As the important flow assets of enterprise, inventory occupies lots of cash flow. The scientific and right inventory management can conduce a high velocity of inventory and assets, which can improve the benefit of the enterprise dramatically. In now days, the competition of enterprises more and more becomes the competition among supply chains. The traditional method of inventory management, which the enterprises are independent from each other, will not fit for the development of enterprises. The enterprises must work together, share information with each other, and aim to optimize inventory efficient of the entire supply chain. The paper will make a research for the inventory management and decision based on the supply chain.The supply chain inventory management and decision will base on data warehouse, create inventory data warehouse of supply chain. The basic database is extracted to an analysis data environment data warehouse, to help the users to analyze and make decision with the tool of Online Analysis Process OLAP and Data Mining (DM). The paper emphasize to describe the creation of inventory decision model, the development and online analysis of inventory data warehouse, to build the inventory management and decision support. The concept will provide a new solution of inventory management, so that the veracity of the inventory analysis and decision can be improved.First of all, it introduces Supply Chain Decision Support system background, put forward current problem of Supply Chain Decision Support, which is that current enterprise Information system has not been so mature, information can not be really shared, so that it makes supply chain decision have big deviation. Based on this background, I come out with the solution to build out the Supply Chain inventory management decision support based on data warehouse to help the supply chain manager to make relatively correct decision. The paper emphasized the design of the inventory decision model and concept framework, take the example of a medical devices company, provide the design method of infrastructure, data model building, and OLAP. The last phase, the system was briefly introduced after development.
