The European Union has become one of china's most important copartners on the field of economy during the years of Chinese reform and opening. As China is the largest developing country and the EU is the most successful economic organization in the word, the cooperation between them is so special and important. The EU enlarged itself twice in 2004 and 2007, so there were many changes on its economic and policies system, which would affect Sino-EU economic relation. The purpose of this thesis is to realize and deal with these changes.At the beginning, the thesis introduces the history of Sino-EU economic relation. There are four phases. The last one lasts from 1992 till now, which is presented in detail and classified to several fields including the cooperation of trading, investment, science and technology, etc., aiming to serve the following parts.Secondly, the thesis introduces the affections of the EU enlargement to Sino-EU economic relation. The negative affections include the higher trade walls, more frequent accusation on anti-dumping and pirate copyright and patent cases, heavier policy pressure etc. The positive ones contain that the enlargement optimizes the market and management system which will be helpful to Chinese companies.The third part analyzes the deeper causes of the above affections, some of which are theoretic, some from the inside of the EU and some from the outside.Finally, this thesis gives some advices for the development of Sino-EU economic relation. Both China and the EU should make great use of mutual complementarities on economic system between both sides, boost countries' and areas' cooperation, enhance mutual trust and solve problems actively, so that Sino-EU economic relation come into the new phase.
