Before the 1990s, most technology innovation of enterprises isbased on incremental technology innovation. After the 1990s, thetechnology innovation of enterprises has incrementally changed from theincremental innovation primarily to the disruptive innovation primarily,a lot of disruptive technology entered into our community withirresistible force. The disruptive innovation has the potential ofeliminating existing technology, which is able to overthrow the strategicstatus of large companies in industry. Therefore, the developed countrieshave started to pay more attention to disruptive innovation, Scholarsfrom different states have also started the study of disruptive innovationtheory.First, this paper summarizes disruptive innovation theory andproject management theory domestic and abroad, points out the shortageof the existing research and the further researching direction. Next, thispaper compares disruptive innovation and incremental innovation,summarizes the features of disruptive innovation. The huge differencesbetween disruptive innovation and incremental innovation, decided thetheories summarized from incremental innovation can not be directlyutilized to the management of disruptive innovation. Disruptiveinnovation challenged traditional innovative management. The projectmanagement pattern in traditional organizations has limitations fordisruptive innovation management.Afterwards, this article contraposes the feature of disruptiveinnovation, supplements and develops Project Manager ResponsibilitySystem, changes it into Project Leader System, and analyzes theconnotation and extension of Project Leader System and the theoreticalfeasibility of using Project Leader System in managing disruptiveinnovation. On this basis, this article introduces Project Leader Systeminto the framework of ambidextrous organization mode, and establishedthe disruptive innovation management model based on Project LeaderSystem. Through its superiority analysis and comparing with the projectmanagement pattern in traditional organizations, we think this model has ambidextrous feature. It also solves the insufficient of the single in theproject management pattern in traditional organizations.Then, this paper analyzed the operating mechanism of thedisruptive innovation management mode, which mainly includes internaloperating mechanism and external operating mechanism. Internaloperating mechanism mainly elaborated the operating mechanism ofdisruptive innovation project, the teamwork management of the internalproject, power distribution, stimulation, stipulation, evaluating risk andmonitoring security, and so on. External operating mechanism mainlyelaborated from next three aspects: the national macroeconomic policy,the cooperation among enterprises and the user participation.Finally, through analyzing the disruptive innovation managementpattern of Sharp Ltd, this paper validated the feasibility and practicalityof the disruptive innovation management model based on Project LeaderSystem and its operating mechanism.
