Land is the irreplaceable material basis and space vector for human society's survival and development, and it is the most important support and infrastructure for human's socio-economic activities. All human activities will eventually reflect in the structure of land use. At the same time, land utilization and structure function of one region at different periods will also response its natural conditions and socio-economic development.Wuhan Urban Agglomeration is the core region of Hubei province as well as the focus area of the whole central China. Interactions constantly occur in land-use types, regional economic and industrial layout in the whole region. Studying on the evolution of land-use structure and driving forces has apparent practical significance. It is not only help to improve the efficiency of the allocation of land resources, to maintain a virtuous circle of land-use system, but also to provide important references to coordinate land requirements in sectors and regions, and then to optimize and adjust the industrial structure.Based on land-use change data of Wuhan Urban Agglomeration from 1997 to 2006, this paper has the main line of evaluation of land use structure—analysis on land use structure change-study on driving forces--conclusions and recommendations, and the main research methods are theoretical analysis and mathematical measurement model. Based on the study of land-use structure data, the article reveals the characteristics and trends of land-use structure, and investigates driving forces from the quantitative point of view, and then provides the basis of decision making for Land use planning and socio-economic sustainable development. The first chapter is the introduction. Firstly, it mainly introduces the background and significance of studying on land-use structure. Secondly, it comprehensively summarizes the research progress at home and abroad. Then it explains the content, methods and ideas of the thesis, and also exposes some shortcomings in the research. In the second chapter the basic concepts and main theories which support the research are introduced. The basic concepts are urban agglomeration, land use tapes and land use structure. The main theories include system theory, location theory, ferential land rent theory, concentration effect theory and man-land coordination theory. After summarizing of the overview of the region, the third chapter mainly analyzes the current situation of Wuhan Urban Agglomeration and analyzes the formation and the evolution law of land-use structure by using mathematical model from Space-time point. Based on the evolution laws of land-use structure which are studied in the third chapter, the fourth chapter explores the socio-economic driving forces which affect the evolution of land-use structure in Wuhan Urban Agglomeration. The fifth chapter is conclusions and related recommendations for the study. |
