Coal is an indispensable precious resource, both the increasing demand for each industry development and the discreteness in geographical locations of coal mine result in coal mine management complex and important. Traditional handwork and wired monitor ways cannot very good satisfied the request, because of cost, time-delay, geographical locations or other limitations. In view of this case, a coal mine supervisory system based on GPRS is designed in this paper. It is an new integration of wire communication, wireless communication and computer network.The paper is organized as follows. Firstly, characteristics, principles and structure of GPRS are introduced. Secongdly, the coal mine supervisory system based on GPRS which consists of data terminal, GPRS Network, INTERNET and Remote Information Center is constructed. Then data terminal of the monitoring system is designed in detail. The data terminal is composed of data acquisition module and data transmission module. In the data acquisition module, by the AT89C52 monolithic integrated circuit as central processing unit, the data acquisition module is composed of some unit circuits, such as temperature data acquisition circuit, voltage data acquisition circuit, display circuit, alarm circuit by sound and light, memory circuit, communications circuit etc. It is designed to accomplish the functions of voltage and temperature data acquisition. In the data transmission module, LQ-8110 produced by Shan Dong LiChuang corporation is chosed and also is composed of some unit circuits, such as power circuit, SIM300, memory circuit, communications circuit etc. It is designed to accomplish the functions of voltage and temperature data transmission. Through AT command, GPRS wireless link is established in the data transmission module. According to the link way of the GPRS modem and the demand of coal mine supervisory system, the communication protocol stack model is established, and the control flow is designed in the aspect of protocol data conversion. Finally, the functions of data acquisition module and data transmission module are tested and the test results have achieved our anticipated effects.
