With the rapid development of the multimedia techniques and Internet techniques, the application of networked multimedia are gradually coming into people's daily life, and plays a more and more important role. However, the current network can only provide a kind of best effort service and can not offer any quality of service (QoS) guarantee for the transmission of real-time multimedia streaming with long transfer time, high demand on network bandwidth, delay, jitter and packet loss. So, how to transmit streaming media data adaptively according to network state in time-varying channel and improve real-time streaming media's transmission quality have become a very urgently problem, which will offer a satisfying service to users.To solve this problem, this paper made in-depth analysis and study from following aspects, QoS guarantee of streaming media communication, real-time protocol, streaming media adaptive transfer strategy and terminal adaptive QoS trandfer system.Firstly, it introduced streaming media communication technique, the definition of QoS, evaluation parameters in video transmission, analyzed and compared the current QoS quality guarantee strategies. Secondly, it studied RTP/RTCP protocol deeply, described how to monitor network parameters using RTP/RTCP dynamically. Thirdly, it analyzed the current streaming media adaptive transmission control strategy based on RTP protocol, and proposed a new adaptive transmission control algorithm on the basis of AIMD congestion control and a new buffer control stratege. At last, it introduced Java Media Framework, described JMF RTP API, and put forward the architecture for the adaptive QoS transmission system and the implementation of the key technique on JMF (Java Media Framework).The result shows that the adaptive QoS transmission system has the ability to reflect network status adaptively. Furthermore, the new strateges and system scheme can support the transmission control of real-time video streaming.
