This dissertation firstly introduced the characters of fluorescent sensors and reviewed mechanism of fluorescent sensors. And then the paper categorized and summarized different kinds of metal chemosensors developed in recent years. As the second most abundant transition metal in biology, Zn2+ plays major role in many vital biological processes. Fluorescence sensor now is considered as an optimal choice to detect metal ions in biology and environment. recently, a number of Zn2+ sensor molecules have been designed and synthesized and have played great rolls in metal detection.By introducing DPA as Zn2+ acceptor to 6-methoxyquinoline group, we designed and synthesized a kind of new Zn2+ chemosensor. The new sensor exhibited very strong fluorescence responses to Zn2+ and had remarkably high selectivity to Zn2+ over other metal inos including K+, Mg2+, Fe2+, Ca2+, Mn2+, Cu2+, and Pb2+. For its easy synthesis and low cost, this new molecules could be used as a low-priced yet high quality Zn2+ chemsensor.
