Applied Research Of Data Warehouse, Olap And Data Mining In Business Intelligence

At present, as the rapid development of information technology, companies face the sharp increase of data. The traditional analytical tools are limited in function, and the traditional business reports are difficult to meet the demand not only in terms of content but also in efficiency. Business Intelligence Solution was formally submitted under this environment. Business Intelligence can extract, transform and load complex data into data warehouse, then using the online analytical (OLAP) and data mining techniques to process the data in accordance with business requirements, at last the results need to be displayed by some user-friendly report tools.The main research of the thesis is how to build an available business intelligence system, combined with practical projects, the thesis suggests lots of solutions for some problems that occurred in the development. The main work in the thesis as follows.Based on the analysis of the research content and development trend of business intelligence, get the direction of the BI, and based on the analysis of the data warehouse, OLAP and data mining which are the core technologies of the BI, get theoretical basis. The thesis rebuilds the architecture, proposed a close-loop architecture of the data warehouse. At the same time, by the analysis of data warehouse development steps, propose the critical success factors when developing the data warehouse. In addition, facing the problems occurred in the dimensional modeling, propose some practical solutions, which provide good reference in other business intelligence projects.Based on the theoretical research, the project realized the ETL process development of the sales department, and finished the OLAP system's development and data mining design. Considering the immature ETL software market and mature database software market, the thesis presents the idea of standardized ETL architecture which has great significance for data warehouse and business intelligence.At the end of the thesis, some related problems to be solved are listed, and future work is indicated.
