WCDMA (also known as 3G) mobile phone as replacement products has already begun in the mobile communications markets. Because of its multi-mode communications capabilities and more advanced features of Internet services, WCDMA handsets at average power consumption have increased significantly over previous generation products. It is hard to accept the fact due to low batter capacity and too short standby time. Although battery technology has improved year by year, the battery capacity is improving, far less than power demand level of the phones and other mobile devices. Although the mobile phone equipment manufacturers strive at hardware power-saving technical point and let the current non-working part of the circuit in time into the depth of the low-power sleep state until the need time to be ready to be awakened. However, the exchange frequency of this sleep and wake-up is relatively high, so power consumption and power savings in power was almost equal.So this way for the mobile power-saving is limited. Therefore, the direction of WCDMA mobile power-saving technology has begun to shift power management software.This article aims to test and research WCDMA mobile phones in the standby, talk, audio, video etc, take power consumption data, explore the mechanism of WCDMA handset power consumption, and on this basis, trying to establish its power prediction model for WCDMA cell phone. It is for power management software to open up new trails.This paper attempts to make mobile phones based on this model energy-saving programs and can be realized to reach more than 15% power saving for WCDMA mobile phones. It is a new foundation for the WCDMA mobile phone power management software modules in energy conservation.
