Laser's wavelength is utilizied as a tool to measure various kinds of parameters such as acceleration, displacement, angle and etc in precise laser interferometry. Laser interferometry has high measuring accuracy because light wavelength reaches a micrometer level which is greatly in excess of the traditional electronic or magnetic units. However, laser frequency has a drift to some extent with the consideration of the impact of laser itself and the environment. The frequency drift will lead to the wavelength drift. The precision of interferometry will be decreased by this shift, so the frequency of the laser need to be stabilized.Zeeman effect of He-Ne laser and the basic principle of Zeeman Frequency stabilization are introduced in this thesis. The basic structure and prominent characteristic of Zeeman stabilized He-Ne laser which is made of Zerdour are presented. Zeeman laser frequency stabilization control system is acomplished by utilizing C8051F121 MCU. An interferometry measuring system has been developped by utilizing the beat frequency method and the He-Ne laser frequency stability has been tested. The improvement of the laser's design has been proposed according to the experimental data.With the condition of appropriate warm-up, and adopting indium seal technology in Zeeman stabilized He-Ne laser which is made of Zerdour, testing results indicate that frequency stability of 10-10 and reproducibility of 10-8 are reached.
