As RFID technology continues to evolve and its application areincreasingly widespread in various industries, RFID enterpriseapplication are becoming increasingly complex, making the businessprocess become more and more complex, meanwhile many problems maybe encountered during RFID application deployment period, such as lowtag read rate and so on. Therefore, in order to meet the requirements ofenterprise application, design and optimize RFID application system in ascientific method before on site deployment is necessary. Throughcomputer simulation to testify feasibility and reliability of the systemmake better guidance to RFID application system deployment andimplementation.This paper analyzes typical RFID application in various industries,studies related theories and technologies of building RFID applicationsystem simulation platform, designs the overall architecture of simulationplatform and accomplishes simulation of RFID devices, applicationscenarios and environmental factors. This paper researches work andparameters of RFID reader, designs a method for reader simulation,abstract the reader into five functional modules: Communication modulesimulates the communication between reader and client; Reader Protocolmodule is responsible for translating client commands into appropriate command format that reader can identify; Command Processor modulesimulates command process; Radio module simulates tag read interaction;GPIO module simulates information transmission between RFID readerand other devices. Automatic and polling mode are two RFID readermode designed in this paper, In automatic mode, reader updates taginformation memory in real-time, while in polling mode reader updatestag information memory when receives a read command. Researchworking principle and key parameters of antenna, brings forward agraphical display method to simulate read range of antenna, characterizesantenna's read range by three-dimensional ellipsoid. Two different kind ofread range model are designed according to related research on near-fieldand far-field UHF antenna, and realized automatic adjustment of readrange by associating with reader's transmission power parameter. Anapplication scenario simulation method is proposed, and a set of logisticsapplication components are designed based on analysing of typicalapplication in logistics industry in order to erect RFID application systemsimulation for logistics field. The RFID system performance impactfactors are concerned, and a test based environmental factors imitationmethod is proposed mainly focus on impact of humidity and temperature,and design a testing method to acquire test data for further analysis. Thedesign and optimization of RFID application system can be guided in aeffective way and the efficiency of deployment and implementation ofRFID application can be improved by using RFID application simulationplatform.This paper first summarizes RFID application testing and itssimulation technology, analyze and compare RFID application simulation softwares in major companies and organizations, then summarizes andanalyzes the requirements and challenges of RFID application systemsimulation platform, and develop a roadmap to build RFID applicationsystem simulation platform, then designs overall architecture, describeseach part of the system design in detail. Finally, give an example oftypical logistics application scenario, use simulation platform to realizethe simulation of RFID application system in logistics industry.
