Ultra-wideband (UWB) radio technology has been paid more and more attention as a short-range wireless communications. UWB shares with other wirless technology band as precondition. It is important to suppress the interference between the UWB communication systems and narrowband communication systems for the further development of UWB systems.Firstly, the performance of current narrow-band system which coexistes with the time-hopping ultra-wideband (TH-UWB) system is theoretically analyzed, different pulse waveform, modulation and repetition frequency is simulated on the performance of narrow-band system. The results show when UWB systems using different parameters have a major impact on the interference of narrow-band system.Secondly, the signal power spectral analysis method is used to analyse pulse shaping techniques and modulation techniques of UWB system, and a linear combination of Gaussian monopulse design with notch frequency spectrum is proposed to mitigate interference by UWB signals. The signal spectrum control technology can effectively reduce or inhibit the work of UWB signals in the narrow-band signal frequency band and energy of some spectral components, it can be used to reduce the mutual interference. Compared to the Gaussian monopulse this method can effectively reduce the interference of UWB signals. Finally, the minimum mean square error of the merger (MMSEC-Rake) algorithm based on the the MMSE-Rake receiver is studied, the received signals are correlated and sampled by repetition frequency, then signals are mergered by MMSEC algorithm. Compared to maximum ratio combining (MRC) and the traditional minimum mean square error receiver (MMSE-Rake), simulation results show that the narrow-band interference suppression effect is remarkable using the algorithm in the UWB system coexistence within the framework of the spectrum.
