With the development of information technology, not only information and data are increasing in quantity, but also the storage methods are becoming more and more diverse. The existing information and data systems have been more and more helpless in the face of heterogeneous data sources and integration problems. In order to fully and effectively use information and data of various carrier forms, to solve a lot of redundant data existing in the system, garbage data, information islands and other issues, achieving data sharing and integration among various heterogeneous data sources, this paper presents a kind of XML-based model of Heterogeneous Data Integration Solutions (HDIS).The purpose is to provide data integration of heterogeneous data sources to access a unified interface regardless of the heterogeneity of data models, data extraction, data integration and other issues amongst users just simply specifying them desired data——no need to describe how to get data. In this study, current systems of heterogeneous data source integration and application of domestic and foreign research are presented in depth and current heterogeneous data integration system facing prominent problems such as heterogeneity, integrity, semantic contradiction and restriction contents of integration is analyzed clearly. Accordingly, it presents a Data Exchange Center(DEC) aimed to effectively address different enterprise applications and interoperability between system integration strategy through the use of unified data exchange standards to enable all applications and data exchange center to link to the use of data exchange center, achieving data sharing and exchanging. In this paper, it fully demonstrated that the XML integration has great feasibility and superiority in solving the problem of heterogeneous data sources and comparation for strengths and weaknesses of the two XML modes of mapping relations based on model-driven and template-driven were made. In the end, a final mapping based on model-driven approach was chosen and further definition of the detailed mapping rules for XML and two-way relationship mapping was obtained, achieving the integration of heterogeneous data sources through programming.
