Ocean is the huge resources of treasury and human's wealth of sustainable development. The development and exploitation of ocean is the research emphasis. The rich resources are existence in waters, which accounted for 70% of the earth. In recent years, with the rapid development of the technique of wireless sensor technology, network communication technology and embedded systems, wireless sensor networks is effective used for marine environmental monitoring by using flexibility, real-time monitoring and self-organization of wireless sensor network deployment.Based on the monitoring system of offshore wireless sensor network and the research platform for the networking of underwater sensor networks, the data acquisition software and networking algorithm for wireless sensor node TelosB is presented. The monitoring system of offshore wireless sensor network is a real-time monitoring system for offshore, which is constructed by lots of wireless sensor nodes. This system is an automatic monitoring system without manual involvement and experimental platform for validating laboratory achievements, which runs automatically by the program from data collection to the data import to the database. Data acquisition software plays an important role in this system. The networking of underwater sensor networks is developed by the deployment of underwater sensor nodes. According to characteristics of underwater, some researchers are forced on the network nodes and protocols. Wireless sensor nodes TelosB is used to the practical application of this platform.Research and implementation of data acquisition software and networking algorithm for wireless sensor node TelosB is introduced. First, research background and analysis for design objective is detailed described. Data acquisition software based on offshore monitor system is presented. Then, according to the different functions, the overall process flow diagram is found and wireless sensor nodes is divided into data acquisition node and sink node in monitor system. Finally, according to analysis of program's characters in TinyOS, data acquisition software program is divided into different components and developed.Wireless sensor nodes TelosB are used to the networking platform of underwater sensor networks. By analyzing TelosB nodes from hardware and software, networking algorithm and feasibility of component is addressed. First, according to the traditional formation of wireless sensor networks network, practical problems of TelosB node expansion port communication in networking are analyzed. Second, according to the characters of functions, the design and experiment for expansion port communication is achieved. Then, telecom components are designed. Finally, based on transmission method of TelosB node expansion port communication, the polling-monitoring is presented to solve the practical problem of communication.The monitoring system of offshore wireless sensor network and the research platform for the networking of underwater sensor networks have been running for more than one year. Much experience and scientific data during the deployment has been accumulated. It has made an important impact on international academic circles, and provides a large amount of valuable data for Oceanography. Data acquisition software and networking algorithms based on TelosB nodes play an important role in these two platforms and provide a reliable guarantee for research on underwater sensor networks.
