The Internet of things is a network that integrates the real world with the digital world.It uses the infrared sensor,laser scanner and other information sensing devices,and according to specified protocols,it can smartly connect things with things,things with people,people with people.As the key technology of its sensing function,Wireless sensor network has become the focus of many experts and scholars around the world,and design of routing protocols is one of the most important things in WSN.CTP is one of the routing protocols,it is a tree-based protocol proposed for gathering data,which takes expected transmissions count as its routing gradient,it has advantages of high efficiency and robustness.But it still has some defects,such as load imbalance,energy consumption imbalance and data congestion.This paper presents an improved protocol(CTP-p)to optimize parent nodes selection by changing routing gradient.The simulations of CTP and CTP-p were carried on NS2 platform to evaluate their routing performance.We tested packet delivery ratio,normalized routing overhead,end-to-end delay and energy consumption for different pause time,number of nodes and maximum speed of nodes to evaluate two protocols' performance.The results show that CTP-p can increase packet delivery ratio,decrease normalized routing overhead,end-to-end delay and energy consumption,it's more reliable than the original protocol,and improve efficiency and connectivity of network effectively.Finally,we carried out the hardware experiment through the Crossbow TelosB Mote TPR2420.We took the collection and transmission of temperature,humidity and lighting as an example to discuss the realization of ctp-p protocol based on TelosB.Then we tested packet loss rate for different packets' number and period of sending packets to evaluate their routing performance.The results show that CTP-p can decrease packet loss rate and get higher reliability.
