An Analysis Of The Use Relation Between Kids Websites And Urban Children

World Wide Web (WWW) is now in widespread use among various populations, including children. Since adult web sites and commerce sites occupies considerable proportion of the Internet, much attention has been caught on developing websites for kids.This paper is an analysis of the developments of the kids websites in China, including the definition and classification of the kids websites. Guided by communication theory, this research use comparative analysis, questionnaire investigation, content analysis, focus groups, attempt to find kids' uses and gratifications of kids websites, dualistic relation between children and kids websites, and come to conclusions.
