Data acquisition and signal processing technology is an important branch of information science, which studies the signal processing such as data acquisition, storage, processing and control operations, is widely used in radar, communications, acoustics, remote sensing, geological exploration, vibration engineering, nondestructive testing, voice processing, intelligent instruments, industrial automation and optical engineering and biomedical engineering.The research status of the domestic and international data acquisition and signal processing equipment R&D Technical were summarized, and then the common developed methods of Portable terminal apparatus and signal processing and the advantages and disadvantages of Wavelet threshold denoising algorithm of signal processing were analyzed. The signal processing system, which possesses the function of signal acquisition, filtering processing, signal storage, displaying and so on, was constructed in the virtual instrument LabVIEW platform. At last, the signal processing system was achieved based on the ARM9 hardware platforms, which realize the design and applications of portable data acquisition instrument. The signal processing system rapidly implemented several existing wavelet threshold denoising algorithm based on LabVIEW technology, and then a new instrument design and implemention methods was proposed, which combine the advantages of LabVIEW technology and embedded design technology.Firstly, According to the traditional method of wavelet hard-threshold or wavelet soft-threshold denoising proposed by Donho and based on the facts such as peak strength and peak location are most concerned in the process of spectral signal analysis, a new threshold function was given. The drawbacks of using Wavelet Hard-threshold Denoising and Soft-threshold Denoising Methods will be overcome by application of the new threshold function. And it can well save the characteristics of peak signal either. Moreover, it's flexible in adjusting the threshold function trend through changing the parameters a and b. This threshold function was realized by LabVIEW, and the experimental results showed the feasibility and superiority of the new algorithm with higher SNR and less Mean Square Error. Secondly, the international development of Data acquisition and signal processing instrument is integrating virtual instrument technology, embedded technology and network technology, and propose some requests about processing system miniaturization and portability. However, the current domestic R&D methods of the signal processing equipment were based on LabVIEW technology of PC or based on embedded system technology intelligent instrumentation. The paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the current design methods used and proposed combining LabVIEW graphical design method and the advantages of embedded systems research based on wavelet threshold denoising algorithm signal processing technology, and build a portable optical signal acquisition and processing equipment.Thirdly, the paper analysis the advantages and disadvantages of several products based on LabVIEW embedded technology development program, and the feasibility of program. And also proposed a new method to design the signal processing system based on LabVIEW Touch Panel and Windows CE operation system, which can make developers pay more attention to the design of signal processing algorithms and implementation rather than HMI design based on traditional development method.
