As the development of electronic technology,microprocessor technology and continuously increased requirements environment safety of people, security technology technology has been tremendous growth, Security Science and Technology has been tremendous growth, especially with the birth of the image sensor, making the Video Surveillance Technology become the core parts of it.A large numbers of cameras needs to be tested which is a very tedious work on the security installation works on-site, so designing a protable & hand-held testing equipment will greatly improve the efficiency of the testing operations.Firstly, according to the needs of security engineering,a available solution using high performance processors was got after analysis and designing. The whole system was Constituted by the ARM&FPGA hardware platfom and software platfom of the open source operating system linux2.6. The test equipment mainly consists of the video display, PTZ control, optical power testing, test data channel, wavefonn testing, generation function module of analog video test signal is a versatile hand-held test instruments. Selection of the system design takes full advantage of resource-rich interface features of ARM processor and high-speed data collection features of FPGA processor makes the overall performance of the test equipment greatly improved.Secondly, this paper describes the specific designing and implementation of the system hardware and software platforms. The hardware parts mainly describle the ARM processor with it's interface circuit and the configuration circuit of FPGA; software section describes the transplantation cropping configuration of Linux2.6 for ARM architecture and Qt libraries compiled for Human Machine Interface software.Finally, the article describes the designing and implementation in detail of the video display system module, analog testing video signal generator module, Linux character device drivers and QT interactive interface modules in the system solutions. The three modules is the core parts of the whole system designing and implementation and it's also the keypoints of this paper.
