This paper aims to explore a new way between computational fluid dynamics(CFD) with scientific visualization. Based on the VTK visualization software package that can continue to expand, it developed a new post-processing method of simulation data to overcome some shortages of the traditional post-processing methods.This study is mainly divided into two major parts:numerical simulation and visualization system for W type boiler, and numerical simulation is mainly to provide the necessary data for visualization system.Based on Fluent software, in this paper, choosing the right models which include the coke combustion model, radiation heat transfer model, particle movement, gas flow, and the turbulent gas combustion model and modifying the simulation parameters, we can get the corresponding temperature field and velocity field distribution.Based on VTK open source software, in this paper, it develops two programs which respectively connect the RES data of applying for engineering simulation and the DNS/LES data of applying for theoretical study. It also develops two kinds of visualization operation of surface rendering and volume rendering, one flow rendering based on stream line generating algorithm by showing stream line, stream tube and stream face, three different types of data extraction method:fixed way, mobile virtual way and simultaneously mapping picture.In this paper, it adds one function of volume rendering to system, which would fully visualize three-dimensional temperature field and velocity field, but it needs high demand of computer hardware; it develops different programs which can apply for different types of CFD Data; it adds two new ways to extract data:mobile virtual slice,compared with old software, can overcome the advantage that slice only be moved along paralleling the X, Y, Z planes; parallel to the direction of the movement restrictions numerical simulation than the commonly used post-processing software, use of mobile virtual slice flow field data extraction methods to overcome the general post-processing software can only be along the X, Y, Z three-plane parallel to the direction of the movement restrictions, can move freely; and simultaneously mapping function can change the probe location according to the needs, and only extract the part of needed data.The internal environment in a real boiler is very complicated. This research is tying to use VTK to show the internal environment of boiler.
