With the successful bid to host the 29th Olympic Games in 2001,the number of sports events' holding in China increased year by year.The development of sports events gradually becomes a catalyst of the improvement of school sports,competitive sports,social sports and sports industry in China.How to make a better use of the resources of the variety of sports events in order to create the benefits for sports events should be the important issue of the operators on sports events at all levels.China diving team plays a leading role in the whole world. However,the growing operation management of sports events of China has not caught up with the international advanced standard.The main methods:questionnaire method,documentary method,expert interview,logic analysis etc.Under the theory of management,this paper focuses on the present situation of the operation management of National Diving Championships,take the "2008 National Diving Championships" as the example,combined with China's actual conditions,to find the problems existed in the progress of the operation management of the diving events,and propose some feasible solutions in order to achieve the promotion of China's diving sustainable development.The main content in this paper is the current situation of National Diving Championships' operation management.According to the current situation and the survey results,the problems are:Our National Diving Championships are lack of combine between diving events and cultural; the operating units over depend on the government with a lack of independence,lack of experts on law,marketing,advertising,etc;lack of survey in the market without operating under the audience' and the market' s needs;the operators have not taken the advantage of the basis of the masses that formed the diving events with no brands.Solutions:widely open the rights of the operation of sports events, create the new method of management,enrich the theory of operation management of sports events;to recruit a large number of talents to enhance the manager's ability to adapt to the needs of all-round;to strengthen the cooperation with media in order to promote the propaganda of National Diving Championships;actively cooperate with the sports promoting organizations to encourage the marketing in the National Diving Championships.Through the investigation and research on the status quo of the operation management of China's diving events,this paper not only gives feasible solutions,but also reflects a general pattern of management operation of China's diving events to make some sense to the practical works.
