The PhD candidate education is internationally recognized as the highest level of higher education nowadays.The quantity and quality of PhD candidate is an important indicator to a country's well-developed higher education and the level of scientific and cultural.As we all known that the PhD candidate education's quality is the "lifeline" of doctoral education.With the quickly increase of enrollment of PhD candidates,the quality of PhD candidates is becoming increasingly prominent.The author of this paper believes that only to analyze the key factors that affect the quality can we be found the main problems exist.Therefore,this paper use U/H University as a case and discuss some key factors that influent the quality of PhD candidates.Then construct a theory to explain the quality issues,and make policy recommendations to improve the training of PhD candidate situation.Finally,achieve the goal to improve the whole education quality of PhD candidates.This study has very important theoretical and practical significance.This study conducts the quality of PhD candidates'questionnaire survey in U / H University and make in-depth interviews with 44 graduate students,teachers and managers.Based on attribution theory in psychology,via the analysis of interview data and the results of the questionnaire data the author try to conclude some key influence factors:effort,will,attitude, interests,motivation,ability,training systems,security and service support systems and faculty.Further,the author outlines the inner factors with the spirit of devotion to academic,such as efforts,will and so on;and outlines some outside factors with"external a people-oriented PhD candidates education institution".In accordance with the qualitative research method of grounded theory,this paper built a bottom-up "fit theory":to ensure or enhance the quality of doctoral training,the key is to maintain a high degree of fit between the inherent spirit and external environment.Base on the former analysis,the author make suggestion as following policy recommendations:â‘ to nurture PhD candidates with the spirit of devotion to academic;â‘¡to optimize the environment of external system,and build a people-oriented training institution.
