| Ph.D.students are at the top of the national education and training system,which is the highest level of talent training in colleges and universities.The quality of doctoral students training represents the highest level of talent training in a country.The high-level doctoral students are the important support of national innovation ability,which is of vital significance to improve China’s international competitiveness,build an innovative country and realize the strategic goal of talent power.With the expansion of the enrollment scale of higher education and the rapid growth of the number of doctoral students,the quality of doctoral students’ training has increasingly become the focus of scholars’ attention.This research first combs the domestic and foreign related theory research and the empirical investigation research result about the factors that affect the quality of doctoral at home and abroad.Starting from the training link of doctoral students,the factors that affect the quality of doctoral students are divided into six modules: enrollment examination,course teaching,scientific research training,tutor quality,support system,graduation examination,and We have compiled the questionnaire and interview outline which affect the quality factors of doctoral student training.Through questionnaires and interviews,we explore the factors that affect the quality of doctoral training.Then we put forward some countermeasures and suggestions to improve the training quality of doctoral students.This study found some phenomena through empirical research:(1)Ph.D.students’ examination aims at self-realization and self-improvement,because of academic pursuit,the number of doctoral students who choose to study is relatively low;(2)The course hours and teaching methods of doctoral students meet the needs of doctoral students,but the curriculum is not reasonable,the curriculum can not be effectively combined with scientific research,lack of rationality;(3)Most Ph.D.students play the role of scientific research partner in the research project of the supervisor and undertake relatively independent sub-topics,but some of them still do some peripheral work.At the same time,scientific research training in scientific research projects is the most effective way of scientific research training generally reflected by doctoral students,which is beneficial to the cultivation of independent scientific research ability of doctoral students;(4)The majority of doctoral students and tutors belong to the traditional type of teachers and students,and doctoral students in the choice of tutors in the academic authority,but after one year of study,more emphasis on the quality of mentors;(5)The school’s financial support for doctoral students can meet their living needs,but the support for scientific research is not enough,and the training of international academic exchange ability of doctoral students should be increased in academic exchange;(6)In the aspect of graduation examination,colleges and universities should pay attention to examining the ability of doctoral students to engage in scientific research independently,and should not restrict themselves to the examination of doctoral thesis,and have different requirements for the output of doctoral students’ academic achievements in different disciplines.In this study,after in-depth analysis of factors affecting the quality of doctoral training,the following suggestions are put forward:(1)Improve the quality of doctoral students and refine the selection mechanism.(2)Pay attention to the system of curriculum setting and combine scientific research practice with classroom teaching.(3)Strengthen the cultivation of the innovation ability of doctoral students in scientific research and establish a system of tutors.(4)strengthen the teacher comprehensive quality assessment,optimize the structure of learning edge.(5)Reform the system of funding for doctoral research and implement diversified funding methods.(6)To improve and improve the flexible credit system and the evaluation mechanism of dissertation,and to scientifically formulate the requirements for doctoral graduation. |
