This thesis aims to conduct a preliminary research on pop music's market and industry in the context of popular culture in Chinese mainland.First of all, taking "Super Girls" as an example, the thesis analyses the background of the emergence of "Super Girls" and the reason of its making an sensational effect. I think there are three major reasons for it. One, the internal reason, that is grass root talent show which accentuates the participation. Two, the external reason, that is the powerful "Star-producing" function of the "Super Girls". Three, the essential reason, that is "Super Girls" is the production of Pop music marketing in the context of popular culture.Second, the thesis analyses the development and evolution of Chinese mainland's pop music market and industry in the context of popular culture. The thesis points out that the Chinese pop music culture has presented new features, under the effect of market and industry mechanism,in the aspect of the art manifestation, art style, the consumption level and service form. The thesis bears an idea that nowadays China is in the period of transition and development, which makes both the mutual promotion side and the contradictary side between pop music and popular culture. The pop music market has become not only the crucial part of the establishment of socialist market economy to play an important role in socialist ideological and ethical progress,but also produces some unhealthy phenomena that contradict the socialist ideological and ethical progress.Last but not lest, by combining the example of "Super Girls", the thesis analyses the connection among the current development of pop music's industrialization, popular culture and the socialist ideological and ethical progress. Through the analysis I raise a seris of problems of the upset of traditional appreciation and traditional idol, which are led by the connection mentioned above. Meanwhile, I think it has significant meanning to strenthen the scientific and standardized management towards pop music market and its industrializtion. I also present in the thesis my personal suggestion about how to create a healthy and orderly, civilized and harmonious pop music market mechanism in order to make pop music's development healthy and sustainable.
