Chinese popular culture germinating in the early 1980s, after a short developing period of less than 30 years , it has become a major pattern of China's current multi-cultural co-exist patterns. Popular culture was developing rapidly in 1990s. Because of the deficiencies of local popular culture criticism, Adorno' s culture industry theory was rapidly popular to China.Adorno' s culture industry theory has a profound social content and strong criticism, its essential connotation of the main industrial production points to criticize the commercialization of culture, the standardization of producting and as a tool of ideology. The article say, Adorno' s theory itself exists the dislocation of experience resources. After spreading to China, because of the changes of the times and cultural context, the Chinese elite literary criticism reconstruct Adorno' s theory. As a result,a larger dislocation between Adorno' s theory and China' s context has appeared. So it is not a powerful wea-pon to China' s popular culture phenomenon.Chinese popular culture criticism should hold own aesthetic principles and strategy. Face to the contemporary state, intellectuals must stick to their critical position. However, the critics should accord to the Chinese context, not the old standards. Establish the own aesthetic principles, containing aesthetic, rational and moral principles. In carrying out the public and cultural criticism, we should hold both the popular and aesthetic strategy. Specifically, the criticism should find out three dimensions—commercial, technical and cultural points. Only in the way, the cultural criticism can truly grasp the text content of popular culture form multidisciplinary so as to take a positive leading and normative role in developing popular culture.
