Analysis On The Licensed Pharmacist Qualification System And The Higher Pharmaceutical Education Reform In China

With the economic development running fast in China, the pharmaceutical industry has been developing rapidly, people's living-standard is improving, people's health awareness is also growing, and the demands for medicine services areas become higher and higher. Under the framework of existing policies in China, we should strengthen the training of pharmacy and the higher pharmaceutical education reform, increase the number of practicing pharmacists, improve the practice of medicine and the quality in all levels. So we could improve the level of pharmaceutical care , and protect the safety, validity and rationality of patients. Then the quality of pharmaceutical service may be ensured, people can use drugs safer, more effective, more reasonable and cheaper.In this paper, we use some methods of empirical in researching the licensed pharmacist qualification system, the practice of pharmacists and the higher pharmaceutical education reform issues. Firstly, by studying the development of licensed pharmacist qualification system, we find some problems about the licensed pharmacist in China. Through quantitative and qualitative methods, studying the licensed pharmacist about the numbers, the academic and professional, we can see that the licensed pharmacist could not meet the needs in China. We also do some works in all aspects of distributions about the licensed pharmacist in Henan Province. Empirical study shows that: There are some problems in the work of Licensed Pharmacist in China, mainly such as the small number of licensed pharmacists, the distribution of irrational, the lower overall quality .The number of licensed pharmacist in our province can not meet the practical needs , the overall quality of the licensed pharmacists needs to be improved. Secondly, this paper points out some problems of the higher pharmaceutical education in the schools: the current higher pharmaceutical education system is too old and obsolete. The professional settings, the teaching contents and curriculum requirements are out of line, also are the licensed pharmacists' drug-knowledges. And the levels of the pharmaceutical education quality are different in China. So a radical reform, for providing a plenty of talents, is needed in the field of higher pharmaceutical education system, to. To improve the quality of pharmaceutical care by the continuing education of the licensed pharmacists in China. Finally, this paper points out some experiences in practice for promoting the higher pharmaceutical education's development and the work about promotion of the licensed pharmacists in the future in Henan Province.
