Objective:This research aims at study the clinical of thoracic vertebral compression fractures which treatmentd by improved brace.Methods:All cases of the Department in January 2008-2009 in October Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine First Affiliated Hospital of the Second Section of Orthopedics and PLA Air Force 211 Hospital wards,according to the standard cases and case exclusion criteria, select 46 patients who suffer from 48 thoracic vertebral compression fractures.It randomly divides them into two group:treatment group and comparison group.The treatment group includes 23 patients who suffer from 25 fractures,who were treated by improved brace.The comparison group includes 23 patients who suffer from 23 fractures,who were treated by brace.Treatment group and comparison group of patients with age,gender,height,weight,injury site,onset,compression ratio of vertebral,sagittal index,as statistical testing,no significant difference (P>0.05),comparable.Both of the two groups were given Fracture reduction techniques by Traction-Hyperextension-Pressing mode;were treated with oral medication and do functional exercises:do over-stretching exercises at early stage,which include five-point support exercises,three-point support exercises,four-point support exercises.Do prone position stretching at late stage.All of the cases do lateral thoracolumbar X-rays examination at after manual reduction,2 week,3 monthes,6 monthes after treatment.Observed the reduction rate of vertebral injury,sagittal index,pain assessment,total effective,effectiveness and complications,complete the collection of observed data.SPSS17.0 and then through statistical analysis.Test whether there is a significant indicator of differences in treatment in order to compare the advantages and disadvantages of the two,and finally to make further analysis and conclusions.Result:We follow up all the cases.There is no significant difference at rate of vertebral fractures,sagittal index after Traction-Hyperextension -Pressing mode between the two groups(P>0.05).Treatment group and comparison group have significant difference with rate of vertebral fractures,sagittal index,pain assessment,effectiveness(P<0.05).There is no significant difference at total effective,complications between the two groups(P>0.05)Conclusion:The improved brace is designed and easy to operate.It can cure the thoracic vertebral compression fractures firmly fixed and positive effected.Compared with Improved brace and General brace treatment,it has several advantages:the improved brace is better than general brace treatment to restore the vertebral height and correct the kyphosis.Further more the improved brace is better able to reduce the incidence of lower back pain left.In summary,this method has many advantages,with wider application.
