There are more and more tasks for the turbine engine platform, following the development of the Chinese aviation industry. In addition, the complex gearboxes of the platform are usually working in the non-stationary conditions. So the gearboxes become to be high-risk.The commercial software can't solve the problems at all, because the single and traditional analysis method isn't suit for the gearbox fault diagnosis in this condition. In order to increase the reliability of the turbine engine platform, it's necessary to develop a new gearbox fault diagnosis system with the complete intellectual property right and multi-method to analysis.1. In this paper, we analyze the construction and characteristic of the transmission structure about the platform at first. In order to diagnose the fault of the gearbox, we selected and optimized some appropriate methods. And then using the traditional methods in the first diagnosis step, because it's stationary and high reliability, such as: time domain analysis, FFT and power spectrum analysis. The envelope spectrum, power cepstrum and zoom spectrum analysis methods can be used to analyze the vibration signals of the gearbox in the complex condition after they're improved. At last we need some new analysis methods to diagnose the gearbox fault in the non-stationary condition, such as: EMD (Empirical Modal Decomposition) and CSD (cyclic spectrum density).2. We also discuss how to realize the methods in Labview by using the signal and math analysis model.3. Development of the fault diagnosis system based on the virtual instruments technology in this paper. In this system we use the TDMS technology to save the data and use sub-panel to call the multi-method analysis model. We test the system and study the characteristic and structural defects of the gearbox by using the historical vibration signal data of the platform.After twice testing, the gearbox fault diagnosis system has been tested and install to the turbine engine test platform. According to the diagnosis results, the system increases the reliability of the platform. It has very strong economic and scientific value.
