As one of the major dams, roller compacted concrete gravity dam (RCCGD), got started relatively late in China while developed rapidly. With the characteristics of quick construction,economy and safety, RCCGD has been applied on a wide range in recent years. Because dam construction is closely related to such factors as mechanical equipment allocation, material supply, construction workmanship, local atmosphere and site, construction process and influence factor conditions are comparatively complicated. As a result, it's too simplified and with low precision to decide construction scheme only by means of experience analogy analysis. In contrast, it's comparatively simple and clear to simulate work progress, alter parameter and revise proposal by employing computer simulation technology. This technology optimizes machine arrangement, construction technique parameter and construction scheme, thus playing a very important role in instructing project design and construction management and thus being of crucial theoretical significance and of practical application value.The thesis is outlined as follows:Based on the roller compacted concrete dam of Long Kai Kou Hydraulic Power Plant, this thesis systematically analyzes the construction characteristics of the dam and its operation mechanism of production, pouring and subsystem transportationBased on the basic principle of dam construction process and the theory of discrete event simulation, this thesis adopts a method of object-oriented to build the simulation model of concrete dam construction process. Meanwhile, the method, procedure of simulation and all its constituent parts have also been expounded.Through analyzing and designing the simulation system of the roller compacted concrete dam construction, this thesis calculates and analyzes the detailed construction data, such as pouring progress, concrete intensity, pouring machinery utilization ratio, warehouse information, etc.This thesis aims at employing the simulation system of roller compacted concrete dam construction process in Long Kai Kou Hydraulic Power Plant to conduct construction organization design and simulate the dam pouring process under the established construction scheme, thus, to demonstrate the rationality of construction progress and intensity and finally provide a solid evidence for the final construction scheme of Long Kai Kou Hydraulic Power Plant project.
