Roller compacted concrete dams technology (RCC) is a new concrete construction technology, which uses stem and rigid concrete in the method of embankment dam construction by vibrating compressing. RCC breaks the traditional method of pouring concrete dam column. It has its characteristics, such as high degree of mechanization,simplified construction procedures and shorten the construction period, savings investment, and so on. At present, the RCC technology is becoming more mature, but in China there are still many regions, where started the RCC dam project in blind and the construction is of chaotic because of the different understanding of RCC technology. Therefore, in this paper, the author introduced RCC concrete dam design and construction methods, detailed section RCC dam design theory, concrete dam area labeling, the choice of concrete materials, and identify with than the dam construction method, and so on, based on a typical project of Guan Men Yan Ci Li City in Hunan Province. There are still many issues require further discussions to lower the cost and improve the quality in terms of developing and popularizing the construction technique of RCC(Roller Compacted Concrete) dam.In addition, this paper also applied the specification and the latest scientific research findings about RCC to find out the quantitative and qualitative analysis and calculation method of the RCC dam's design and construction of, combined with the typical project's design and construction engineering analysis and feasibility studies, to provides detailed reference for the roller compacted concrete dam promote technology in future.
