In the 1980s, the domestic manufacturers to introduce a number of French tower crane Potain (POTAIN) the company's tower computer technology, manufacturing a large number of localization of the tower crane, only Beijing had nearly 1,000 units, became the mainstream machine type of the national construction market. At that time, the strength of domestic technology and production conditions, the localization of OMD slewing tower crane sector manufacturing process failed to meet the Potain's original technology level, coupled with poor working conditions tower crane, long time continuous operation, use and maintenance are not in place, etc. a result, OMD slewing mechanism quality problems occur, the resulting economic losses each year the tower crane up to 15 million RMB.In this paper, extensive collection and collation of tower cranes OMD slewing mechanism based on the common faults, combined with OMD slewing tower crane body composition and working principle of the research, analysis of its shortcomings and the reasons for frequent failures. The results show that the frequency of OMD rotary body fat failures mainly occurred in the deterioration of the electromagnetic clutch on the proposed transformation is the key to ensure that its speed performance, while addressing the heat problem.Reference to the advanced experience of foreign countries, combined with their own working practices, through repeated comparison, the final decision to adopt technically more mature (RTC) 185 Electronic voltage control system with eddy-current torque motor unit to replace the original OMD electromagnetic Slip Control System.Rotating bodies of OMD technical reform is complete, the city has in Huaxia hotels item (H3/36B) and the BDA project (H3/36B) conducted a field site, etc. to run test, resulting in long-up to several months of construction period, the tower crane has been in normal operation after reform, no further slewing mechanism failure.
