Almost everywhere equipments of steel structure are placed in the open air environment,as the equipment of petrochemical are ultra-high and oversize,At the same time,the flammable,explosive hydrocarbons put in majority of storage devices,in the event of outbreak of fire,the temperature of equipments will rapid rise.Therefore,fire protection design of petrochemical steel structure is a very important issue.Currently,a mostly of fire protection design reference to two codes of "Fire prevention code of petro chemical enterprise design" and "Technical specification of fire protection for steel structures in petro chemical industry". Fulfilling the need for two codes for aforesaid,at home, with insulation layer or thick Fire-resistant coating outside of the steel structures is the main method,but this implement methods will make the appearance to lack ornamentality,easy to drop and heavy maintain of the whole devices.At present, ultra-thin Fire-resistant coating is wideiy used the petrochemical enterprise at abroad,some foreign_owned enterprises or adopt the external design patterns make use of the ultra-thin Fire-resistant coating at home, ultra-thin Fire-resistant coating has adhesion,difficult to fall off.good decorative,as well as the function of meet fire protection requirements.So far,for the list of research outputs of ultra-thin Fire-resistant coating makes use of the large petrochemical enterprise is very poor,for this reason,adhibit the existing codes to design.this topic is directed against the problem,and unite the PetroChina Co of Sichuan petrification'specific items,for this reason to develop the fire resistance and relevant issues study in a deeping way of ultra-thin Fire-resistant coating. In this paper,design and improved experimental apparatus,forming a full set of fire resistance test method for ultra-thin Fire-resistant coating,designed a variety of cross_section specimen,analysed four ultra-thin Fire-resistant coating's fire resistance test and the heat transfer performance of the specimen.Research shows that: the four ultra-thin fire retardant coating have the performance of expanding foam,volume expansion in fire,played the role of resistance to fire,and adapted for fire prevention of hydrocarbon fire.However,the expanding foam have crack in the high-temperature combustion process,partial reduction of the fire resistance.The results of experimental show that the crack position is involed with the shape of the specimen,have predictable.This research work for the ultra-thin Fire-resistant coating apply in the petrochemical steel structure provide important experimental datas and laid the foundation of the expansion of application in the future.
