With the rapid development of the petrochemical enterprises, the steel ultra-thin fire-resistant coating is largely used in the petrochemical steel, this phenomenon makes the market of fire retardant paint constantly pouring, more and more types of coating are appear, the coating market is confused, and the quality is uneven. The majority of petrochemical steel placed in the open air, and the fire of petrochemical enterprises is hydrocarbon fire, for the hydrocarbon fire with rapid heating, flammable and explosive characteristics, so that the fire protection for the petrochemical structures is particularly important. The ultra-thin fire-resistant coating is used in outdoor steel structures, so the weathering resistance of the coating has been weakened by the natural environment. The quality of the coating which is inspected and saled is ofen different, there are certain difficulties in how to select the better performance of fire retardant paint coating in the actual project.The ultra-thin steel structure fire retardant coating has a large number of applications in the petrochemical enterprises, but there are no test standards and norms for the paint in the hydrocarbon fire environment, the studies and reports of fire-resistant coating in weather resistance are little. To explore the physical and chemical properties of fire-resistant coating which is under the hydrocarbon fire environment and make theoretical guidance for how to select the good performance of the coatings in actual project, this article stuedy the acid resistance, the alkali resistance, the salt spray resistance and the freeze-thaw cycle resistance of fire-resistant coating.This article take small-scale tests, using the metal sheet specimens to evaluate the weather resistance in three types of fire-resistant coating, in order to select the good performanced coating which is used in acid and alkali test. The profiles cross section in the test is box-shaped and round, the coating thickness is lmm and2mm. In view to the limitations of the test conditions and limited time, we use sheet specimens to evaluate the salt spray resistance and the freeze-thaw cycle resistance in the three types of paint.The results showed that the paint’s capacity of the acid corrosion is better than the capacity of alkaline corrosion; The physical and chemical properties of round specimens is superior to the box-shaped specimens, the cracking situation of box-shaped specimens is more serious than round specimens; The physical and chemical properties of specimens with2mm thickness is superior to the specimens with lmm thickness; The capacity of the freeze-thaw cycle corrosion in the three types of paint is better than the capacity of the salt spray corrosion.
