The economic operation of substation and reactive voltage optimal control are very important in the action of reducing power system loss and assurancing voltage quality, they are also one of the best ways of ensure security and economy of electric grid. The study of the economic operation of substation and reactive voltage optimal control includes the research of the economic operation of the transformers in the substation, the research of the OLTC and the optimization of reactive power. At present, the problem that how to unify the control of the economic operation of substation and the general control of reactive voltage is not enough reaserched. In this paper, by the analyse of economic operation of substation with apposable transformers or unaided transformer, and the research of the action of compensations which are combined with on load tap changer transformer in reducing power system loss, we bring forward the model and the full enumerative optimization arithmetic, which designates the target value is the minimum of general loss of main tansformers, the restrictions are voltage quality, power factor and transformer capacity. Also, with the model we unify the controls mentioned above. If gain the technical parameters of transformers, load datas come from SCADA, obeying the restrictions we can optimize the the amount, running mode and tap of the transformers and the capacity of compensations and evaluate the minimum power loss and voltage decrease in different running modes, and ordering these running modes, the evaluations could be offered to the operators to help them choose the reasonable substion running mode.Basing on the model and arithmetic, this paper developed the graphical software of the economic operation of substation,which used Microsoft Visio2003 as a development platform and used the secondary development of technology with VBA. The software not only has the powerful drawing and editing features, a good human-computer interaction interface, beautiful graphics, and simple operation, but also has a fully graphical modeling, graphics automatically marked and good integration with the Office, AutoCAD, Internet, etc.Through the calculation of the regional power grid, indicating that the software for optimizing the operation of substation has a good effect.
