High-performance traction system is required by the development of the rail system. Because of the increasing mature of the AC drive skill, AC drive locomotive has become the development trend of the locomotive drive skill.The main drive control system of the TY05 AC-DC-AC drive diesel locomotive is developed by Taiyuan locomotive factory, the Internal Combustion Engine-Generators unit with the joint regulater is used as power source, the control strategy of the driving motor is only slip frequency control which dynamic performance is not very well, but the capacity of the internal combustion Engine-Generators unit is relatively limited, and the unit is a large inertia link, when load mutates or operating environment is changed, locomotive is always run down.This paper proposers the plan, diesel engine electronic injection system controlled by microprocessor is used as the control department of the Internal Combustion Engine-Generator unit, the DTC technology is used as control strategy of driving motor, modular design concept is adopted when design the whole AC driving control system, the dynamic and steady-state performance is enhanced, so the whole system can work coordinately.Firstly, it is presented the development overview of AC drive diesel locomotive, and the characters of every main department of diesel locomotive are analyzed in detail. Secondly, it is introduced that the principle of each control section for the original TY05 diesel locomotive, plus,the reason what makes it run down is expatiated. The diesel engine is controled by the computer with electronic injection technology; the motor is controled with DTC technology. the dynamic performance of control system is improved by automatically coordinated control according to the different speed require. the locomotive is able to operate normally when load mutates or operating environment is changed. Finally, the control system is simulated with Matlab, and the simulation result confirms that the sheme improved the anti-interference performance of system, and this system can work well.
