In order to improve the efficiency of resources and protect the environmental, develop high speed and heavy-load transportation, promote the sustainable development of national economy, in the railway traffic transportation, the electric traction ac transmission system with excellent performance and significant energy saving effect is used more and more commonly. AC drive control technology is the necessary technology configuration of the high speed and heavy-load vehicles, and is the base of the development of high speed railway and heavy-load transportation, and has also become the important symbol to measure a national railway technology level.This paper begins with the basic structure of the electric traction AC drive system, analyses the working principle of the core part such as rectifier, inverter and three-phase AC asynchronous traction motor, and establishes the corresponding mathematical model, and then elaborates the various control strategy of single-phase voltage two-level four-quadrant rectifier and three-phase AC asynchronous motor. For the control of the four quadrant rectifier, this paper mainly discusses two kinds of direct current control scheme such as the transient current control and forecast current control, and reach the conclusion that transient current control algorithm is simple, with clear physical meanings and more convenient achievement. For the ac asynchronous motor control, this paper puts forward the different control plans in different applications and different speed range, and also discusses the speed-sensorless control technology. This paper puts emphasis on the speed identification algorithm based on the rotor magnetic chain model and the self-adaptive reference all order flux observer observer, and demonstrates that the latter has the ideal identification effect in all the speed range.This paper also makes a detailed system simulation research with Matlab/Simulink software for the transient current control of catenary side four-quadrant rectifier and the direct torque control and speed-sensorless control of the motor side, builds the simulation model of all kinds of control scheme, and concludes the simulation results agreed with the theoretical analysis.
