In this part, during the analysis of its history and actuality, the paper recites the location and historical evolution,cultural environment and folk-custom; During recounting of the character of space and the analyses of texture, it analyses its choosing position,rogramming composition and the character of space texture which include"point","line"and"plan".The third part is based on the first and second one.The paper studies the character of Huotong ancient town traditional dwellings. It recites the relation of the element of dwellings, courtyard distribution ,the character of position and its appearance and building structure.In addition,the paper is concluded the researching and mapping of the valuable dwellings in Huotong.During the course of researching the investigation,theory study and preservative programming of Huotong ancient town, the paper gives more theory and practice on the study of the architectural form of traditional settlement.
