With the development of the integrated microelectronics and microcomputer technique, the modern Digital Storage Oscilloscope, which is regarded as a kind of exact electronic measuring instrument, is rapidly expanding. It not only has stronger functions and greater precision, but also shows the beautiful shape. But the price of the DSO is rather high universally, which limits the application of the DSO widely. The development of Virtual Instrument makes it possible to research and explore the cheaper high-powered DSO. The new DSO can suffice for the actual requirements greatly. So it is very practical and meaning to research the virtual multi-functions DSO.The working principle of the existing DSO is analyzed earnestly. On this condition, the virtual multi-functions DSO is realized by making great use of the explore flat VB 6.0 and the data acquisition card. The modularization methods from top to bottom are adopted in this research. The real-time sampling module is designed by the analysis of the DAQ technique. Based on the working principle of the time and frequency analysis and arithmetic, the time module and frequency module are designed. In the course, digital filter is the emphases to be researched and realized. After the correlative technique of DSO is summarized and analyzed, the detailed designs of the other modules such as waveform display, waveform save are opened out. Finally, the all functions of the multi-functions DSO are tested and analyzed with the data acquisition card PCI-1710.The testing results prove that the multi-functions DSO attains the design target.The multi-functions DSO has some of functions achieved in the DSO, such as the analysising and displaying of real time data. And the FIR filtering is also designed in this system.
