It is impossible for the development in every walk of life without the support from the electric power, thus the requirement for the electric power becomes a key point. In order to ensure that the production in power plant has been safely gone on, it is necessary to design a remote monitoring and control system. With the rapid development of the telecommunication, control and computer technique, the Internet technique has already been found in every aspect of daily life and industrial application, which makes the design of a remote monitoring and control system possible.In the thesis, I have expatiated on the design, a remote monitoring and control system for the quality of water vapor in Mao-ming thermo-electric plant in Guangdong province, in detail. First of all, I analyzed the function of the remote monitoring and control system and put forward the blue print of the system framework design which is made up of local component, local monitoring & control and remote monitoring & control. With the foundation of the system framework, I have also finished the software function design on the basis of the C/S mode and the B/C mode. It accomplished not only the collection and monitoring for the local data of the quality of water vapor, but also makes the question and share through the browser (eg. IE browser) come true.In addition, I did an in-depth study about the reliability of the system. The reliable designs have also been done from four aspects respectively which are the system structure, network transmission structure, software and hardware. At the same time, based on the introduction of the basic definition for the real-time ability of the system, in the thesis, I also discussed the measures that can make the real-time system.At present, the system is already applied in the remote monitoring and control system for the quality of water vapor in the Mao-ming thermo-electric plant in Guangdong province, and the effect is fully ratified and affirmative.
