Highway Construction Projects Bq Wbs Applied Research

Highway traffic has a very important effect in national economy and expressway is a significant mark of a nation's development. The essential gap between Chinese construction industry and International advanced level does not exist in technology, but in idea and management. Therefore the idea and thinking mode of Engineering Philosophy are introduced to study and analyze expressway construction project with the tools of WBS and BQ.With the development of Project Management, The Project Management Tool of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) has been introduced into the Construction Project Management. In many large scale international engineerings, it is beginning to be required that the project managers use WBS to manage the projects .But many domestic engineering technicians don't understand the basic concept of WBS because there are few internal engineerings using WBS to manage the project ,So many domestic enterprises have no practice in working out the WBS. Author of this text is just for the current situation to research this task about establishing WBS and its application in Construction Project.The concepts and compilation processes of WBS and BQ are introduced and an expressway construction project WBS is established according to routine ways and specifications. Then, the WBS obtained is applied to the Pavement Project of Wuding-Kunming expressway and the BQ is also compiled. Both the WBS and BQ are used in project management. The study result indicates that the whole project is partitioned into many easy-managed small cells by WBS and once combined with engineering quantity, the project managers can make accurate estimation of project cost and progress more conveniently. Furthermore, the specialty boundary is break and the connection between technology,material,equipment and finance professionals are enhanced so an effective project management can be done. Both the WBS and BQ represent effectiveness and scientific in construction project management.The expressway construction project WBS established provides a platform for further study and application in this field and can be used as a template. New WBS can be constructed with its work packages so work efficiency can be improved.
