The full-load bus frame, which is a advanced style in bus industry , is just designed with experience by a great number of Bus manufacturers at home. JNP6182, that's a new product of Youngman.Neoplan, has two full-load carriages and very typical structure. The method of bus body digital design on NX, which includes 3D parametric model, the bus frame design system, FEA and Optimum Design for body frame proposed and realized in this paper as JNP6182 as example. The main contents are as follows:(1)The 3D parametric model, which is the base of digital design, is designed by TBS Parametric theory, assuring hierarchy and association for the model. And this modeling way spreads in enterprise.(2) The bus frame design system based on NX is requires against the objection of commercial CAD software. The developing tools of NX, database, and VC++ is used to realize the system function.(3)The FEA model still keeps the parameters of CAD model, and updates as soon as the change of 3D parametric model. The equivalent models of Air Spring Suspension, articulated plate are proposed for enhancing the precision. Beam and shell are the main elements of bus body frame FEA model.(4)The stress and stiffness situation of bus body frame is achieved by static analysis under typical working conditions. And the low-order vibration performance is gained by modal analysis.(5)The structure optimization is an important aim of this paper. The effective parameters are found by sensitive analysis. And the restricting functions include the first-order torsion stiffness and frequency. The lightweight design reduces more than 70kg from the JNP6182 frame.Digital design for JNP6182 in concept design and engineering design areas provides the whole paradigm for bus industry.
