with the development of GPS technology, the involved application become deeper and deeper, wider and wider.VNS(vehicle navigation system) as well as SDS(safe-driving system) is one of the applications based on GPS technology for civil use.VNS is the integration of GPS technology and GIStechnology which can provide automatic vehicle position ,designation of route, route guide service, inquiring for graphic information ,sounding installation display and wireless communication. today, with more and more complex urban traffic and road network, more and more frequent physical communication, vehicle navigation become more and more important. SDS , also based on the GPS technology, is a integrated system which can provide reminding of the information of traffic and roads , make the user free fires, improve safety of driving .It include the functions: vehicle position and play of information point etc.The article pose a solution of SDS base on VNS, according to the fact that VDS and SDS share the common dependences: platform resource ( .eg GPS requirement ) and basic function( .eg vehicle position).firstly ,it realizes the share of the software and hardware resources, improve the utilized rate, so it can save the cost largely. Secondly, the solution improves the precision of vehicle position and playing of the SDS. In addition, it betters user experience and satisfaction by electronic map of the VDS.SDS is designed into four layer: UI (user interface), controller, engine and data , according to OO (Object-Oriented) thinking, modularization and layer-built in structure, the article introduce the controller, engine and data in detail. At last, the article probe into the amelioration of SDS, including transplanting structure, communication and installation of the radar detector. At present the system run stably, the product with the system has come into the market, and the reply from users is good.
