| Selectable warhead can form several different mode penetrators for a single shaped charge warhead. Recently, there are three representative shaped charge penetrator, including Jet, Explosively Formed Penetra-tor(EFP) and Jetting Penetrator Charge(JPC). In addition, basing on EFP warhead, multi-chipping penetrator can defeat thinner armor target at long standoff and wide range area along the axis orientation of warhead. Thus, it is feasible to design the selectable warhead.Depending on the jet formed theories and the formed conditions of these different penetrator above, the different ways of initiation, forming multi-mode shaped charge penetrator in single warhead are studied in this paper. By means of hydro-code simulation, the mechanism for the penetrator formation is analyzed systematically the effect of liner' s configurations, under the direct and inverse annular initiation. Then combining the aim of this study, the relationships among different location of the direct annular initiation, the penetrator formation and the poop shape warhead with large cone angle cone-arc liner are studied systematically. Then it comes to the conclution that in a fixed liner configuration warhead, a EFP with shorter length to diameter ratio is formed when the initiation ring' s radius is small and the EFP will be stretched when the location of the ring is at somewhere of the poop incline of the warhead. If the liner configuration is optimized, the stretched EFP can be changed to JPC mode.Finally, attaching a mechanical device to the front of the warhead with the above optimized liner geometry under the center point initiation, the main influence of the multi-chipping penetrator formation is studied particularly. |
