Small-caliber Heat Study

HEAT (high explosive antitank) cartridge has two advantages compared with traditional kinetic armor-piercing cartridge:the first, the armor-piercing power hasn't influence on firing range. It can not occur that the power decreases with the farther range. The second, the muzzle velocity of the used weapon may not be involved, the low one hasn't influence on armor-piercing ability. The small caliber HEAT cartridge used for airborne gun of armed helicopter has some advantages compared with the other cartridges, acting against light armor and killing non-protection targets such as personnel etc. Its performances may meet well the requirements that the ammunition should be multipurpose on modern battlefield.The article studies the questions of high overload, high rotation and base-initiating nose fuze on bases of theories analysis and calculation. It focuses on the design of the charge structure and analysis of anti-high overload and anti-rotation. It introduces in detail how the nose fuze initiates on the base and rules of flying debris initiation.
