Currently, the traffic flow simulation of driving simulator mostly based on the classical model of traffic flow, realized micro-simulation model of traffic flow by programming language, such as car send out model, following model, changing driveway model. Most of them use tools such as Visual C++, Multigen Creator, Vega, and OpenGL to carry out the micro-simulation of traffic flow.With traffic simulation technology development, traffic simulation software has become a convenient, flexible and effective traffic analysis tool for traffic engineer to test and optimize the various road traffic planning, design, and description of the complex phenomenon of road traffic. The characters of microscopic traffic simulation software VISSIM are traffic flow model and powerful evaluation function. In an open environment, if we input the dynamic traffic flow data from the external interface, driving simulator achieves the traffic flow simulation. This paper presents a method which to using programming language Visual C++ to research the traffic flow interface of driving simulator and VISSIM, realizes traffic flow simulation of driving simulator.In this paper, starting from the road conversion, road data converse from the driving simulator to VISSIM, then in VISSIM drives the traffic flow simulation, vehicle records of traffic flow converse through the interface to driving simulator, a driving simulator simulation of the traffic flow , realize traffic flow simulation of driving simulator. This method is verified effectiveness and practicality through examples.On this basis, the applications of traffic flow simulation in driving simulator studied. An-Chu expressway for example, through the driving simulator tests, we analyze the impact of flow to speed, proved the feasibility of traffic flow simulation. Secondly, we study the relationship of traffic flow and the number of overtaking.The work described in this paper, found the research method of interface, basically completed the dynamic traffic flow simulation in driving simulator, provided a more authentic virtual experiment scenes and studied the traffic flow characteristics preliminarily. At the same time, this method also provided feasibility of research road traffic jams and safety on driving simulator.
